Business Service

Have you received a Business Evaluation Report, Business Evaluation Action Plan or a Business Review Report in the last five years?

We provide businesses with access to experienced, independent business advise to review the business and provide an Evaluation Action Plan with recommended strategies for improvement, growth and change readiness. The evaluation includes up to two months of mentoring to help implement the strategies.

You may be eligible for a Business Growth Grant to fund the strategies outlined in your Evaluation Action Plan.


Who can apply

At a minimum, you must:

  • be a for-profit, non-tax exempt company that is registered for GST and operating in Australia for at least two financial years,

  • have an annual turnover or operating expenditure between $25 000 and $3 million,

  • be operating in a specified business growth industry/sector,

Business evaluation for change readiness are one of the services provided under the Business Services element of Workplace Vocations.
An independent and skilled Business adviser undertakes an impartial and ethical business evaluation. It is tailored to the applicant's
business to provide strategies for business growth, business improvement, change preparedness feedback, ethical workforce development
and diversity. A skilled and experienced Business Adviser will:

  • come to your business premises to gather information about your business,

  • undertake further research and analyse the information off-site; and

  • prepare a tailored Evaluation Action Plan simply outlining strategies your business can take to become more competitive, change
    adaptable, improve and grow.


Eligibility Criteria​

  • provide Enabling Technologies and Services to one or more of specified business growth areas in:

  1. Administration and management
  2. Engineering and production
  3. Estates and surveying
  4. Finance and accountancy
  5. Financial services
  6. Information technology
  7. Legal
  8. Leisure services
  9. Public relations and media
  10. Purchasing and stores management
  11. Research and development (R&D)
  12. Sales and marketing
  13. Secretarial and clerical work
  14. Transport and distribution
  15. Voluntary sector
  • have the skills, ability, expertise or intellectual property to work in or with one or more of the the areas into the future, ​

  • be a Hospitality based business operating in Queensland,

  • be solvent,

  • have filed Business Activity Statements in Australia showing ongoing trading in at least two successive financial years,

  • have an annual turnover (or operating expenditure) within the current, or one of the last two financial years, ​between
    $25,000 and $3 million,

  • not have received a Business Evaluation Report, Business Evaluation Action Plan or a Business Review Report in the last five years.
